What is Kombucha?

In 414CE, a Korean Doctor who’s name was Kombu was summoned by the Japanese Emperor Inyoko who was dying from a mysterious illness and was searching to find a cure. Dr Kombu created a potion from Black Tea which he prescribed to the Emperor which saved his life.

This remedy which was discovered by Dr Kombu is today known as Kombucha and the early Samurai Warriors would carry Kombucha in their hip flask to drink before going into battle as they believed it gave them extra strength and energy.Vita-Aid™ Kombu-T kombucha uses high quality kombucha liquid, fermented from the hand-picked black tea leaves, from the high mountains in Taiwan. Kombu-T is made from the small leaf black tea together with SCOBY and pure brewed apple cider vinegar as the active ingredient. Once the black tea liquid is fermented with kombucha SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast), it is rich in good bacteria, organic acids, tea polyphenols and flavonoids.
